The Jesuit Church of St. Michael is located in the centre of Munich near the Stachus and the associated Michaelssaal, which is used for conferences and seminars.
The Michaelssaal was made available by the Jesuit Church of St. Michael in Munich to the Freunde des Symphonieorchesters des Bayerischen Rundfunk e. V.
In this context, the hall had to be made available for rehearsals, concerts and live streams during the Corona Pandemic for the symphony orchestra and internationally renowned musicians without any restrictions, independently of the sound system.
For the realisation, concept-A was asked to plan the acoustics and to implement them.
The acoustic objective was initially to improve speech intelligibility for the church's continuing conference operations without negatively affecting the acoustics for musical performances.
The requirements could be met by using absorbers from concept-A, taking into account the protection of historical monuments and the appearance of the hall.
